Mount Eliza – Fulton Road – Main Bathroom
Love our latest Mt Eliza project... how good does it look! The Terrazzo floor with white subways and black tapware looks amazing.
Our client knew exactly what she wanted from the get go. She had photos and ideas, but needed a builder to put it all together, so we did.
We didn’t have to reconfigure the room other than altering the joists in the shower recess to suit a strip grate, and reconfigure the plumbing and electrical points. However, when we ripped the old bathroom out we found so many issues.
The house was originally built in 1952 and the old plumbing pipework was no good. So we replaced all the water lines, also fixed a leak we found way over under their kitchen that we found while we were under the house, and we replaced all of the old gal waste pipes too.
By using subway tiles laid vertically in brick bond formation it has created the most beautiful feature walls as you can see. It looks so elegant with the Terrazzo floor, and the back tapware really sets it off.
The custom vanity has a stone bench top with a single drop in bowl, timber panels, and black tapware off the wall, it looks sensational.
We removed the old shower that had an ugly marble base, fixed the rotten timber bearers and joists underneath. A tile insert strip grate for waste water was installed, and we built a niche into the shower wall for functionality.
The new freestanding bath was installed, with a custom built niche above it for functionality, and the underfloor heating duct was repositioned correctly to be under the towel rail to keep them warm and dry.
All tiles, tapware, basins, twin overhead shower rails, toilet and accessories are from Beaumont Tiles in Mentone.
Check out the before photos, this bathroom renovation is again a great example of what is possible in any home. This is not a large bathroom, but it is very functional, and it looks amazing.
This bathroom is now a wonderful space to enjoy… how good does it look!
